Trades
A Trade is the field in which a character is trained in. A Trade determines a character’s available free Talents, starting pool for Talent tiers, any extra Talent trees, and their base body defense.

During character creation players may choose up to one Trade to start with for free. This will be known as a character’s “Main Trade”. A max of two Trades may be learned at this time.

There are 8 Trade classifications.

Withgoing a Trade
Choosing a Trade at character creation is not a requirement. You may choose to skip taking one in exchange for extra Free XP to spend during the creation process, and may choose to take one after entering play. In order to choose a Trade once the character has entered play you must find someone already trained in the Trade of choice and have them teach you their ways. Learning a Trade in game takes 30 minutes of roleplay. While you are learning from someone they gain assistance bonuses on any checks involved with their lessons. If you choose to enter play without a Trade you may spend 25XP at character creation instead of the normal 10 and your base body is 8.
Main Trade
Tier | Main Trade RUS (Rank Up System) |
|---|---|
Tier 1 | Available at character creation to anyone meeting the base requirements for the trade |
Tier 2 | Unlockable after 6 games attended* cumulatively + 20XP worth of Tier 1 skills purchased + 20XP to unlock |
Tier 3 | Unlockable after 12 games attended* cumulatively + 50XP worth of Tier 2 skills purchased + 35XP to unlock |
Secondary Trade
A secondary trade is available for purchase with free starting XP. Once the character has entered play they must find a way to learn or be taught this secondary Trade by someone already knowledgeable in it. To teach someone a Trade you must spend a half hour (30 minutes) with that person either teaching them directly or by demonstration.
(The learning player may act as an assistant during this time, +1 to any non-combat related activity the teacher is doing which can be used to teach an aspect of the Trade to the learning student for the duration of the training session.)
Tier | Secondary Trade RUS (Rank Up System) |
|---|---|
Tier 1 | 10XP to unlock + meeting any base requirements |
Tier 2 | Unlockable after 6 games attended* cumulatively after purchasing this Trade +40XP worth of Tier 1 skills + 20XP to unlock |
Tier 3 | Unlockable after 12 games attended* cumulatively after purchasing this trade + 100Xp worth of Tier 2 skills + 35XP to unlock |
* Attendance for a game session will be counted equally for either the live action or the tabletop variety, at a rate of no more towards any attendance requirements than one per month, unless stated as a special event. This means that you can use your character to play both the live action variety or the tabletop variety to qualify for any Tier RUS requirements. However, if you play in both sessions or more than one session of either kind, it will not count further toward it. You only gain the extra XP.
Additionally there are specialty Trades available, known as Doyen Trades and Amalgam Trades. Doyen are those Trades in which someone has focused all of their study along a single path and mastered the use of those abilities, whereas an Amalgam is one that relies on the skills of two or more Trades studied in combination.
